When you have purchased the domain name with godaddy.com and planning to host your wordpress website on other hosting server then you need to change the DNS (domain name server) of your godaddy account to the hosting servers’.
In order to change DNS records on Godaddy, follow the steps mentioned below:
- Login into your Godaddy account and click on “DNS” button next to your domain name of which you want to change DNS records.
- On next page, Goto “Nameservers” section and click on Change button.
- Initially the default Godaddy nameservers are visible. Click on “Custom” from the dropdown.
- Enter your web hosting’s name servers, one in each line.
- Click “Save” button.
Note: DNS records takes upto 24 hours to get updated successfully. So, after saving the new domain name servers, wait till it get affected.
